Pastoral Work / Catechesis at school
The Mission Statement of Our School:
"SS. Mary and John's School is a Catholic school of the 21st century.
Christ is the centre of all that happens at our school. With Christ as our example and guide we can learn to:
- Worship
- Work
- Play
- Trust
- Respect
- Love and care
As God wants us to."
Fr. Dawid spends every Wednesday at the school from 9am to 3pm. He meets with the children to have biblical catechesis, e.g. about the mystery of creation, the sacraments or different biblical characters: Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samson, David...
He celebrates Holy Mass with a homily on special occasions, like the beginning of the school year, Harvest, Holy Souls Day, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Presentation of the Lord, Ash Wednesday, Lent or Easter.
On the other hand, the pupils attend SS. Mary & John's Church on many occasions. They usually sing carols before Christmas, help in Christmas Fayre or visit the church to pray.
